The Friends of the Allen Public Library is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, dedicated to supporting the Allen Public Library by providing funds and programs that would not otherwise be possible.
Junior Friends
Members are encouraged to get involved as volunteers. Review the list of some volunteer opportunities below.
Fill out the membership form and mail it to the Friends at the address shown on the form.
Include your check made out to Friends of the Allen Public Library;the amount will bebased on the level of membership you want
Member Volunteer Opportunities
Bach to Books - guide groups through special exhibits and welcome guests to Friends' programs
Celebration of Chocolate Annual Membership Celebration - bake a dessert, help organize events, and/or work one shift the evening of the event
On-going Book Sale - help sort and stock books & magazines
ALLen Reads - help plan and carry out annual community reading event
Recycle-A-Book Day - help collect books from elementary schools and/or help sort books to distribute to charities
Junior Friends - help lead our 4th-6th graders in creative endeavors and volunteer opportunities
Christmas Parade - help create float and/or march in the parade
Library Staff Appreciation Luncheon - prepare a dish to serve and/or help with set-up, serving, and clean-up of event
Texas Recycles Day - help collect book donations the morning of this one-day event in conjunction with the City of Allen
