Dr. Thomas Chavez

Spain and the Independence of the United States

Dr. Thomas Chávez, author of Spain and the Independence of the United States: An Intrinsic Gift, will discuss Spain’s important contributions to the thirteen colonies and the American Revolution at 7 p.m. Tuesday, September, 21, at Allen Public Library, 300 N. Allen Dr. Sponsored by Bach to Books and the General Bernardo de Gálvez Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Allen Chapter (DAR), this program is free and no reservations are required. 

Recently retired as the director of the National Hispanic Cultural Center of New Mexico, Dr. Chávez was also director of the prestigious Palace of the Governors Museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico, for over 20 years. In addition to being the author of seven books, he has also published numerous articles and book reviews.
