The Texas Old Time Fiddle Association 1 to 8 p.m., Saturday, September 18, at the Allen Public Library, 300 N. Allen Dr.  Senior citizen contestants, age 60 and over, will kick off the competition at 1:15 p.m.   They will be followed by age groups 15 and under, 16-35, and 36-59.  Guests can attend any portion or remain for the entire event.  Best accompanist will be the final competition of the day.

At 4 pm, Texas Lace will perform a medley of fiddle favorites.  Texas Lace has appeared on radio with Red Steagall and the Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering Fiddle Contest at the Fort Worth Stockyards.  The Kildares, a Celtic Rock group, will then

Sponsored by Bach to Books and American National Bank of Texas, this fiddle contest is free.  Worley Stein, American National Bank of Texas president notes, “
I am looking forward to enjoying some good old Texas-style fiddling. Come join the fun and encourage the fiddlers as they compete to become “grand champion.”
