At 7 p.m. Monday, October 18, Jason Martin will talk on “Radio Production Today: A Look at the Production's Inner Workings of a Top Radio Show.”Jason discovered his passion for jazz at an early age, that led him to playing the saxophone, and later the guitar and piano. After high school he attended the Dallas Sound Lab (Media Tech Institute) in Las Colinas where he studied the art of recording and radio production. While attending this school, Jason met Headkrack of "The Rickey Smiley Morning Show."Headkrack opened the door to then 19-year-old Jason’s radio career, providing him the opportunity to become an on-air personality for 97.9 The Beat (Radio-One) in Dallas, Texas.
While employed at Radio-One, he graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Commercial Music from Collin County Community College.Currently, Jason is involved with radio imagining, the producer of Tom Joyner's weekend show "Right Back At'cha" and sound engineer for Tom Joyner's In Studio Jams.His productions for the Tom Joyner Morning Show can be heard weekly from 5 to 9 a.m. locally on 94.5 K Soul.
